Inspired by memories of traveling in Mexico and Oaxaca. Nathalie visited the folk art museums and was impressed by the mix of lace, the bright cut-paper garlands and flowers, the terracotta animals, the heart motifs everywhere, and the colorful textiles and ribbons. She wanted to create joyful patterns with the rich contrasts and colorful images.
